Fall Break Free Post

I didn't go anywhere during fall break, I just stayed at my house. I slept and relaxed every day. I love relaxing. I haven't been able to do it lately because of all of the work and the stress that comes along with school. When I relax, I either put on a cleansing face mask, lay in my bed, and watch youtube or playing video games. I try to not worry about school when I relax but sometimes it dawns on me. This break, I did all of my homework on Wednesday night so I could have the entire rest of the week to relax. I hate having homework on my mind, so I get it done. Relaxing is a time to breathe. A time to think. Or a time to forget about everything and just focus on what diss track Shane Dawson is making.

Research Post

My topic for my paper is the assassination of Julius Caesar. I'm sure you are thinking, what's the importance of that? Well, Caesar's death had a tremendous impact on Rome and the world. My thesis question is who was Julius Caesar and how did his death impact Rome and the world? There are two parts to my question. The first is identifying who he was and background information about him like his birth and how he became involved with politics. The second part is the impact on the world and Rome. Impact meaning how the Roman Republic became an empire and how everyone viewed him.  My topic is interesting because Julius Caesar was an intriguing person. He lived a luxurious life with statues and painting of him and he had all kinds of gems and jewelry. Although, the majority of the Senators in the Senate did not agree with, for example, his total control over Rome after Caesar crossed the Rubicon and his draft of upcoming reforms. Analyze a Song

I am going to analyze  I Must Belong Somewhere" by Bright Eyes because I could not think of a song to analyze, so I chose a song that Dr.D gave us.  Lyrics The major techniques that are being used are anaphora, personification, and cacophony.  To start, Anaphora is used all throughout the song. "Leave..." is repeated consecutively to emphasize leaving and forgetting about that part of your life. Anaphora also creates a rhythm in that the reader will know the beginning of the next lyric and that it is pleasing to read/sing/listen to.   In verse, " Leave the sad guitar in its hard-shell case," personification is used in this example to represent how nobody plays that guitar, so it is sad or to show how dreary that place is so you need to leave. Another example is " In truth, the forest hears each sound". This example of personification, the forest is being compared to a person saying that the forest can hear noises.
